Epson D88 Inkjet Printer

Epson - Stylus D88 Plus review

The Epson Stylus D88 and the slightly cheaper Epson Stylus D78 are Epson’s latest, four-colour, inkjet printers aimed at the home user, and are great for both domestic and home business usage.

The Epson Stylus D88 is quite a compact ink jet printer in silver and black. It has the a traditional Epson upright paper feeder at the back, and is fairly light at 4.2kg. On the top of the printer you basically get basic control buttons and the on/off control. Although the machine is in the budget range it is a unfortunate that it does not come equipped with USB 2.0.

The print quality, however, is very good, you get the same optimised dpi rate (5,760 x 1,440) as the higher spec more expensive models in the Epson printer range such as the Epson Stylus DX6000. Print speeds are impressive too with optimum black text at 23ppm, colour text at 14ppm and 10 x 15cm (6 x 4-inch) photos averaging 92 seconds. You can add an extra paper feeder but you can load upto 100-pages which should be more than sufficient for most home requirements.

One excellent aspect is that like most Epson inkjet printers the D88 Plus has four separate colour ink cartridges which means you only have to change the particular colour that has run out thus keeping running costs down. This is where Stnkyink can help, we not only stock the original Epson Durabrite ink cartridges for the Epson D88 but also high quality compatible ink cartridges which can give you significant savings over buying original cartridges.

We think that the Epson D88 inkjet printer is a fantastic basic printer for home users on a limited budget which delivers superior quality photo reproductions at a reasonable speed, and coupled together with our high quality compatible, fully guaranteed ink cartridges it is a winning combination for home users.
