HP Launch versatile Colour Laserjet CM1312 All in One for Small Offices

June 19th, 2008

hp_color_laserjet_cm1312 Hewlett-Packard has just launched some good value multi function printers. These are the successors to the CM1015/1017, are available in 2 versions and are already on the market.

This printer is aimed above all at private users and small offices, thanks to its low ink and energy consumption. It’s optimal performance is reached when less than 1500 pages are printed per month. One new feature is the printer’s ability to automatically chose the optimal description language, meaning that the user does not have to determine beforehand whether the print job should be sent in PDL or in raster description.

This should prove advantageous for colour printing. The print speed is not very high – around 12 pages per minute in black and white, and 8 in colour at a 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Photocopies can be enlarged or reduced from 25 – 400%, and the scanner functions at a 1200dpi resolution.

The standard model, the Laserjet CM1312 MFP is 437 x 453 x 408mm, weighs 20.9kg and has an RRP of around £275. The Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP should cost around £80 more and has some extra features. These include a fax function, automatic document feed, a photo card slot, a colour display panel and a 10/100 Fast Ethernet connection. It is however slightly larger and heavier, measuring 497 x 485 x 470mm and weighing 24.4kg.

We will be reviewing this new printer range shortly, along with a pricing comparison.  HP have also launched new colour cartridges for the printer they are:

CB540A - HP Black Toner Cartridge 2,200 Pages @ 5% Yield

CB541A - HP Cyan Toner Cartridge 1,400 Pages @ 5% Yield

CB542A - HP Yellow Toner Cartridge 1,400 Pages @ 5% Yield

CB543A - HP Magenta Toner Cartridge 1,400 Pages @ 5% Yield

Lexmark No 2 Refilled cartridges in stock at Stinkyinkshop

June 19th, 2008

We often get people enquiring whether we stock the Lexmark No 2 Tri Colour ink cartridge, but unfortunately we can’t actually buy them from our suppliers because they go into a range of printers that are only available through Dixons Stores Group (DSG) which include PC-World, Dixons, Currys and PCWorld.com, and due to the deal that Lexmark have with DSG we are not allowed to sell the ink cartridges for that printer.LexNo2

This cartridge goes into the following Lexmark (Exclusive to DSG) printers:

However, we have just taken supplies of refilled No 2 cartridges and now have them available in stock.  The refilled cartridge is only £13.49 including VAT and FREE First class post delivery compared to the Lexmark original on the PCWorld website which is £17.99 + £4.95 standard delivery (whatever that means) which is an eye watering total of £22.94 - which makes us NINE quid cheaper!!!

New compatible cartridges available for Canon CLi-8 and HP 363

June 18th, 2008

When Canon introduced their CLi-8 and PGi-5 ink cartridges about four years ago, they used the very latest semiconductor technology to produce the print heads to enable the micro fine droplets that advanced printing demanded. They also used the very latest chip encryption technology to protect the chips on the cartridges. It has taken 4 years of research, but finally a compatible chip has been released into the market, and we have the final result in stock now. Fully chipped, compliant compatible Canon CLI-8 and PGI-5 cartridges are in stock and available at significant savings over the Canon originals. Market analysts predict that the chip manufacturers could sell 12 – 15 million chips in the first six months of release, which just goes to show the pent up demand for compatible ink cartridges.

We have had available the cartridges that you had to take the old chip off, we have had available (and still do) the Armor packs and ink cartridges, but the bottom line is that if you are looking for a simple low cost alternative the Canon original – we now have them available.

· We have put together a summer special offer – buy all five cartridges for only £29.99

· A massive saving of £21.96 over the full set of originals,

· Plus as another incentive there is 20% more ink in the compatible cartridges than the originals

· 100% compatible

· 100% guaranteed satisfaction

We will continue to stock the Canon original cartridges and also the Armor ink cartridges, for those customers who have invested in the Armor Packs, but expect that these compatible ink cartridges will become a huge seller over the next years.

Alongside these Canon cartridges we are now stocking HP remanufactured 363 cartridges. Whilst these have been giving fabulous results we have always been frustrated by the meagre amount of ink in the colour cartridges. No longer, our remanufactured cartridges are filled to the brim with up to 3 Times more ink than the HP originals. Again X-Print our suppliers have matched the ink to the printers and you should see little or no difference between the originals or remanufactured cartridges – except in your wallet!.

Save even more money and buy our multipack of all of the cartridges.

World Environment Day 2008 - Cycle to work!

June 6th, 2008

roy-john-bikes Here at Stinkyink, we are as aware of our environment as I am sure you are.  We are based in Sunny Shropshire in the middle of the Severn Valley, albeit on a small Industrial Estate, surrounded by fields, the Severn Valley Country Park and the River itself is just down the road - it almost beats working for a living!.   Anyway to the point - with Diesel now costing over £1.30/Ltr the Boss has decided to save money and has implemented a Cycle to Work Scheme.  The Government launched this Scheme back in 2004 and it enables the company to buy it’s employees a Bike (plus accessories) and claim nearly half the value back in tax (You can see full information here).  So we all wait with baited breath to see whether john-bike he is going to continue during the winter (editors note - depends on the price of diesel!) or is indeed a fair weather cyclist!.

Last year we planted a tree to mark World Environment Day (See the Video here), but the benefits to cycling to work far outweigh the benefits of our (albeit lovely) little lime tree.  There are positive health impacts and it is actually quicker to cycle to work than drive for John and marginally slower for Roy - going back is a different matter however as ‘the hill’ comes into play, anyway we wish them both well!
